Why, fancy meeting you here! Welcome back! I sure hope your weekend is treating you well so far! Hopefully you are relaxing and enjoying a breather from work. It’s a rainy, cold evening in Sacramento right now. Perfect to be indoors, bundled, and writing with my dogs right by my side! Are you stressing about what to get your significant other for Valentine’s Day?! Whether you haven’t been dating long OR you’ve been married forever! Read on for a few, simple ideas that they are sure to love!
- Homemade scrapbook (My absolute personal fav! You can’t get more thoughtful than this! Chronological order is always fun. Get supplies at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or even Target. Add stickers, captions, inside jokes, song lyrics. There are no rules)
- A customized valentine’s day playlist with all their favorite songs or your guys favs! You could even go the romantic route and play all sappy, love songs. (Play over dinner and drinks)
- Which ties into a tasty home cooked meal! Cook their favorite dish of all time or I personally recommend some bbq’d filets from Costco, grilled asparagus, and a scalloped potato. Remember, garlic makes any dish! Don’t forget the candles for ambiance. You can’t go wrong!
- Sports jersey! Their favorite team of course. My husband recently got a new, Sacramento Kings jersey for Marvin Bagley the 3rd! He’s a talented, newer NBA player who he just loves.
- Pack a picnic and head to a nearby park! Talk about easy and romantic. Whether permitting of course. Pack their fav foods and drink! Most importantly, put the cell phones away!! This is a great opportunity to connect and spend quality time together.
- DAY TRIP!! Go somewhere they have never been! Take a drive, make a dinner reservation, and play some awesome tunes.
- On a side note, I challenge you to make a homemade card NOT a store bought one. It shows you took the time to put in that extra effort. They are so easy and fun to make. Get some blank cards, stickers, gel pens.. and go to town!
I’d love to hear feedback from you if any of these ideas were a hit! I think this is truly a great start if you’ve been stumped on what to get your love this year. I know if you’ve been with someone for years it can be difficult because you feel like you’ve done it all! Go get your creative on! Have fun doing it!! Hopefully Valentine’s Day 2019 is one for the books. Don’t forget to tell everyone special in your life you love them. Life’s too damn short!
Until next time loves!!
xoxo, Alicia
